To be a resident of Little Elm, you must live within Town limits and pay Town of Little Elm property taxes. (Note: It is important to understand that while you may live within the boundaries of the Little Elm Independent School District, you may not be a resident of the Town of Little Elm as the District map does not follow Town limits.)
Although your driver’s license or the post office has listed your mailing address as Little Elm, you could still live outside of Town limits. If you live outside of Town limits, this means you do not pay Town of Little Elm property taxes and are not a resident of Little Elm. If you reside outside of Little Elm, are not eligible for Town services, such as water and sewer service. (Note: some residents of Little Elm along the 380 corridor and in Union Park do not get Little Elm utilities, but pay property taxes to the Town and are therefore residents).
The best way to determine if you are indeed a resident of the Town of Little Elm is to check your tax status by looking at your property tax statement at www.dentoncad.org.
Absolutely! We welcome you and would love for you to take advantage of all that Little Elm has to offer regarding our parks and recreation amenities, library services, and our Town events! If you have questions about residency, please let us know!
