LITTLE ELM, TX (Jan. 16, 2019) Little Elm residents in District 2 and 4 will head to the polls to choose their council representatives on Election Day, Saturday, May 4.
Registered voters can vote on Election Day or during the Early Voting period before the election.
Currently, the seat for District 2 is occupied by James Dominy. Chip Norman, who currently holds the position in District 4, is ineligible to run again due to term limit constraints.
Residents interested in running for either position and who meet eligibility requirements can declare their candidacy during the election filing period, from Wednesday, Jan. 16 to Friday, Feb. 15 at 5 p.m.
Election packets to file for candidacy can be picked up at from the Town Secretary at Town Hall, Second Floor, 100 West Eldorado Parkway in Little Elm.
Individuals interested in running for either of the two seats must be at least 21 years of age on the date of the election and have lived in Little Elm for at least 12 consecutive months immediately preceding Election Day.
It is a requirement that potential candidates must also reside in the district of the seat they are seeking.

Council seats are for three years, with a maximum number of three successive terms.
To be eligible to vote in the May 4 election, voter registration must be completed by April 4. Voter registration materials can be obtained from the Texas Secretary of State website at www.votetexas.gov.
