Town Manager Matt Mueller presented a discussion on dockless vehicles in response to the increasing popularity of these vehicles (scooters, bicycles, and e-bikes) and recent events in neighboring cities. He also reviewed of current ordinances for similar vehicles, such as motor-assisted scooters and golf carts. The presentation also covered how other municipalities are managing these types of vehicles and potential challenges to their implementation in Little Elm.
Public comments were heard regarding the dockless vehicles and updates regarding the Little Elm Area Food Bank.
Council voted to put a 90-day moratorium on motorized scooters and bike share programs to give the Town the opportunity to implement a tiered fine system and enforcement mechanism for violations.
