Extra! Extra! Read All About It – On Our Digital Marquees

Did you know that the Town of Little Elm has seven digital marquee signs full of information to keep you updated on events and happenings going on in Town? You may have seen these signs as you drive along Eldorado Parkway, Walker Lane, or Main Street. Did you know that you can use these signs to share information, too?

In addition to Town information, other items that can go on the digital marquees including information from:

  • School districts within Town limits
  • PTA groups with one of these districts
  • Civic groups
  • Religious organizations
  • Non-profit organizations
  • Homeowner's associations

Information that can be advertised includes special events, sign-up events or drives, and fundraisers. Regularly scheduled meetings and ongoing events cannot be posted.

If you meet the criteria above, you're halfway there! Next, a word about how to put your message together:

Keep it brief. Just the facts of who, what, when, and where should apply for your proposed message.

Keep it clean. Messages that feature profanity, derogatory, or offensive speech will not be approved.

Make it general. For your message to be on the marquee, your event must appeal to the general population of the community and must be open to the community as a whole. Messages that contain personal announcements, target a specific group, or contain information such as names, phone numbers, or email addresses will not be approved.

Political or campaign information, commercial information, and religious programming are also prohibited.

Add an image. You can send in a graphic image if you have one that you'd like to include; otherwise, standard Town background images will be selected.

Time it right. You should turn in your marquee message at least two weeks before you want it to start running. This gives the Town time to approve your message and put it together. Marquee messages generally start running one week before your event will take place.

Do you have questions about the electronic marquees and the Town operating policy regarding their use? Read more here or email to marquee@littleelm.org.

Note: There is a $20 application fee to add your messages to the marquees. You can apply to put your message on the marquee online here, or print off and deliver in person to Permits, Town Hall, 100 W. Eldorado Parkway, Little Elm, TX 75068. Payment must be received before your message will run.
