The Town of Little Elm requires that you obtain a Garage Sale Permit to hold a garage sale.

  • Garage Sale Permits are issued by property address, not applicant name.
  • Each address is allowed three garage sales per calendar year, and 30 days must elapse between each garage sale.

Download the Garage Sale Permit Brochure or Garage Sale Ordinance 708 for additional information regarding garage sale restrictions and requirements,

How to Obtain a Permit and Cost:

The fee for a Garage Sale Permit is $11 (MasterCard, Visa, or Discover) and can only be purchased online. Once paid, you will receive five signs that meet Town specifications. Other signs are not permitted.

Permits may only be obtained by an adult occupant of the property where the garage sale will be conducted or their designated representative. Proof of ownership or occupancy may be required. The five Town-issued signs function as the permit for the garage sale.

Where to Obtain a Permit

Garage sale permits are available online through the MyGov Resident Request Center only now (Click on Licenses), and signs can be picked up at the Little Elm Recreation Center at 303 Main Street.
