Here are the basic steps for the development review and project application process for the Town of Little Elm. Planning & Zoning | Self-Assessment
•Identify project goal and scope before scheduling pre-development meeting to ensure the appropriate staff are included in meeting. View our self-assessment guide here.
Engineering | Pre-Application Meeting
•Schedule a time to meet with the development team to discuss your vision and we will further explain the process you can expect when developing within the Town of Little Elm.
•Checklists, applications, zoning information, platting information or other information can be obtained during this meeting. View our development guide with checklist here.
Building Permits | Application Submittal
•Your application will enter a 10-day check for completeness, during this time staff will be checking to make sure all required documents and fees have been submitted. (Not paying your application fee makes your submittal incomplete).
•Staff will have your comments returned to you within 10 business days.
•Having comments requires a resubmittal (10-day check for completeness).
•Staff is the approving body for site plans and minor plats.
•Planning and Zoning Commission approves Preliminary and Final Plats.
•Town Council will approve any rezoning that is required.
•Schedule pre-construction meeting for final steps in development.
