The Little Elm Fire Department is currently recruiting for open positions as this time. Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Certifications (must possess):

Firefighter/Paramedic

  • Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Basic Firefighter Certification
  • Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) as an EMT-Paramedic (EMT-P)

Firefighter/EMT

  • Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Basic Firefighter Certification
  • Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) as an EMT-Basic (EMT-Basic)
  • Must obtain certification of EMT-P upon request

Paramedic Only

  • Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) as an EMT-Paramedic (EMT-P)
  • Must obtain TCFP Basic Firefighter Certification upon request

PAT Details

Test includes:

  • Aerial ladder climb
  • Extension ladder climb
  • Extension ladder removal
  • Charged hose drag
  • Stair climb with hose lift
  • Ventilation simulator
  • Equipment Carry
  • Firefighter Mannequin Drag

***Candidates must bring their completed/notarized Personal History Statement, Polygraph statement, and Physical Agility Waiver to their scheduled PAT*** (Note: a notary will not be available at the time of the test)

Town Benefits

  • Salary potential for FF/Paramedic: $60,623 per year
  • Salary potential for FF/EMT or Paramedic Only: $58,223 per year
