The Little Elm Fire Department is currently recruiting for open positions at this time. Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Certifications must be in one of the certification categories listed below by hire date.

Firefighter/Paramedic

  • Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Basic Firefighter Certification
  • Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) as an EMT-Paramedic (EMT-P)

Firefighter/EMT

  • Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Basic Firefighter Certification
  • Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) as an EMT-Basic (EMT-Basic)
  • Must obtain certification of EMT-P upon request

Paramedic Only

  • Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) as an EMT-Paramedic (EMT-P)
  • Must obtain TCFP Basic Firefighter Certification upon request

Disqualifiers

Process

  • Apply July 1 -July 31
  • Written Exam and Row Test on Aug 14 (wear PT clothes)
  • Physical Agility on Aug 21 (wear PT clothes)
  • Panel Interview on Aug 25-Sept 3
  • Background Checks TBA
  • Conditional Offer TBA
  • Psychological Test TBA
  • Physical and Drug screening TBA
  • Potential Start Date Oct 2021

  • Charged Hose Drag
  • Stair Climb with High Rise Pack
  • 2.5" Hose Lift
  • Keiser Sled
  • Equipment Carry
  • Extension Ladder Removal
  • Mannequin Drag

***Candidates must bring their completed/notarized Personal History Statement, Polygraph statement, and Physical Agility Waiver to their scheduled PAT*** (Note: a notary will not be available at the time of the test)

Town Benefits

  • Salary potential for FF/Paramedic: $62,138 per year
  • Salary potential for FF/EMT or Paramedic Only: $59,677 per year
