Solicitor Permit


The Town of Little Elm prohibits solicitation or distribution of handbills without first obtaining a written permit. See code for ordinance.

A Solicitor's Packet can be obtained in the Building Permits office and must be filled out and submitted in person, along with a non-refundable fee of $100 for the first applicant and $50 for each additional applicant.

A criminal background check will be performed by the Little Elm Police Department on each applicant before a Solicitor’s Permit being issued, and you will be notified when the background check has been completed. 

Items required at the time of applying:

  • State-issued identification card or driver’s license
  • Company approval letter for soliciting on their behalf
  • Financial rating statement (BBB, etc.)
  • Liability insurance on vehicles used
  • Texas tax permit, or state that tax is collected, if applicable
Applications are only accepted between the hours of Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., and Friday 7:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
in the Building Permits office.
